hacking

Hacking is when someone breaks into a computer and tampers with your things, like documents, firewalls, websites, ect. Also, it reprograms a computers so all of your things are gone or redesigned. It affects a web designer because if a web designer designs a website for someone or his/herself and a hacker hacks into it, they could lose all of their work and would have to start over. This could also affect the user because if someone goes to a website that someone designed for them, and it's not what they wanted they could sue the web designer if they paid him/her to design it. This is really bad because the web designer could have done everything right and someone could have hacked into it without the person knowing.
I think it's a very bad thing to do. I don't think anyone should be able to insert themselves into other peoples' business or websites. I don't really know why someone would want to re-program a computer and tamper with peoples' things. It's such a hassle to get everything back to normal and it's a waste of time.

free post!

Today seems like it's never ending, especially because even when school ends at 2pm, I have gymnastics practice at 2:20pm. I don't want to go to practice today at all. I compete beam for BHS gymnastics, and yesterday while practice my routine I did a roundoff and fell off of the beam. I didn't JUST fall off though, I fell off hitting almost every single rib on my left side. I'm pretty sure at least 2 are broken and the rest are bruised. Unfortunately, you can't "fix" broken ribs, you just have to let them heal over time. I'm still practicing today and tomorrow I have to do my routine infront of a judge, so she can critique it. I hope my broken ribs don't impair me in doing well tomorrow. At least I didn't break anything too serious like an ankle or leg! But it's still lame that it happened. Oh well, I'm going to get back up on the beam today and do my routine as if nothing happened...hopefully!

Apple vs. Windows

I prefer Apple rather than Windows. This is because Apple is much more advanced in technology and applications. Also, Apple's computers (Macs) are a lot better than Window's computers because the Macs are much faster and they also have better screen resoultions which makes images look much better. Apple and Windows also share good qualities. For example, how Windows has many messenger applications and a movie maker application and Apple has many advanced items like the iPad and iPhone. A poor feature of Windows is that it runs slow and it can get very aggrivating. Apple also has a downfall, and it is that it's more design based than data based. This means that Apple focuses more on how to improve the resolutions and image clearness rather than the updated versions of the actual application. Windows doesn't focus on the images and resoultion but focuses mainly on the data part of their items. Windows has excellent programs like Excell and Microsoft Word, but their graphics aren't as good as Apple. This is a good competition because Apple and Windows are kind of like opposites.
Apple was established on April 1st, 1976 in California, but wasn't incorporated until January of 1977. It used to be name Apple Computers, Inc for the first 30 years of its existance, but afterwards changed to just Apple because they decided to invent other products instead of just computers. Windows was created in 1983 through Microsoft. The first version of Windows was Windows 1.0 created in 1985. The second version of Windows came out two years later in December of 1987. Apple and Windows actually worked together to create "desk accessories" like calculator, paint, and a clock. These were available on the desktop or the main home screen on the computer.

New technology

The most innovative and new piece of technology out there now is the iPad. It is a tablet computer similar to the iPhone, except in computer form. It was created by Apple, and it is so popular that it sold 3 million iPads in just 80 days! However, the iPad can do many different things similar to the iPhone and iPod it only allows you to download applications approved by Apple.
I think it's very cool and amazing how someone could invent that. I don't think it will help the world in the future, but it will help people become up to date with modern technology. I haven't used one before, but I'm itching to try one! Everyone that has used one said they're unbelieveable. I do think it will become obsolete in the future, only because they are already coming out with an iPad 2. Technology is constantly advancing whether you notice or not.

mark zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard College in 2004, but yet he is the world's youngest billionaire at 26 years old. This blows my mind. He created facebook in his dorm room with his friends. Some think inspiration came from Philips Exeter Academy which he graduated from in 2002. Facebook was, first, only for Harvard students, but then he spread it to Stanford, Dartmouth, Columbia, New York University, Yale, Cornell, and Brown. After he dropped out of Harvard, he moved out to California to set up an office with his friends. He met Peter Thiel and he invested in Mark's company.

His friends that helped him create Facebook, later filed a lawsuit against him...why? Because they accused Zuckerberg of intentionally making them believe he would help them create a social network called HarvardConnection.com. They filed a lawsuit in 2004, but then was later dismissed.

Favorite and ugliest logo

My favorite logo is the Wu-Tang Clan logo. Wu-Tang is a music group of rappers. I like their logo because it's simply and hardcore. An ugly logo would be the Superbowl XLII logo. This is my least favorite because the colors are extremely ugly and they just don't compliment eachother.
The Wu-Tang logo is simple and only one color which is better that way it can match with many different backgrounds. The Superbowl XLII logo isn't very simple because there are many things going on in the logo and the colors don't go well together. They might be contrasting but there are better colors than the ones chosen to contrast.

Free Post #2

I'm so excited today's friday! Yesterday we had no school because of Veteren's Day, and it was a Thursday feeling like it was a Sunday. I came into school thinking today was a Monday and it seemed to go by so slowly because I kept thinking it was a Monday. Then, someone at lunch was talking about what their doing this weekend and I all of a sudden remembered and was SUPER excited. I went through more than half the day thinking it was just the start of a new week, when it was actually the end! This weekend's also my cousins birthday and she's turning 17 on Saturday. I'm pumped to spend time with her and go out with her this weekend! :)

Beautiful picture

Tropical Sunset by janruss
I think this picture is beautiful because I love tropical places and sunsets, and this is a perfect combination of both! I really like the colors of the sunset, the oranges and reds and even some blue mixed in. Also, I like how the palm trees appear black because it really makes the colors of the sunset stand out. I think the water helps the redness of the sunset pop too because the light is reflecting off of the water.
This picture was taken in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii. It really makes me now want to go to Hawaii than ever before just so I can see gorgeous sunsets like this one. It was taken by Janine Russell.

Free Blog!

I love music. Listening to my iPod in school really helps me concentrate. Many adults say that you can't concentrate while you listen to music and do work, but really it helps me so much more. I don't know why but it really does. I love music and it's a huge part of my life. I get so much more work done during class while i listen to my iPod, too. It also bothers me when teachers say to take it out because they don't realize it's actually help me focus.

Presentaion

I do think I would want to go to a school for art, not necessarily web design (sorry mr.mistler!) but maybe for something similar with art. I think it's very interesting and it could take me far. I also think it's very interesting how many different things you can branch off of if you go to art school.

Photoshop

I like photoshop because it allows you to be so diverse with everything! Its awesome how the possibilites are infinte. The only thing I dont't like about it is how there are different layers because sometimes it can get confusing and you can get different layers mixed up. It's popular because you can do whatever you want on it and people love the freedom. I think at first it is difficult to understand and use, but with the right instructions it will get easier eventually. For example, at first when I started recreating my web page project, I had NO idea what I was doing with photoshop, but then I got taught many different tricks and tools, and now I'm a lot better at managing it.

BHS 1:1 implementation

I do think the 1:1 implementation is a semi-good idea because it helps with note taking and also will benefit people in organization, too. I also think it's a bad idea because kids can often get side tracked on the computers with facebook and other websites. I do think it will happen soon, and the school should pay for it because they made a big hype about it and if the students end up having to pay for it, some might not be able to afford the computers leaving some students at a disadvantage almost.

Someone else's blog

The blog I looked at was http://odd-dolls.blogspot.com/ . This person makes very odd looking dolls for a living and posts pictures of them and describes them on their blog. The dolls are all very weird looking, but creative! They all remind me of halloween-type dolls, because they're all creepy looking. His dolls are all very unique, but I don't know if anyone would buy one...

Favorite Website

My favorite website is Facebook. Facebook is a social networking website where you can keep in touch with friends/family and new people. Facebook is my favorite website because I'm always on it talking to friends and keeping up with what's going on. The main colors on the webpage is blue and white. The navigation is on the far right side of the page at the very top. The name of the webpage is on the far right at the top in bolded letters that are white. It is easy to use becuase everything is labeled and you can clearly see what to click. What works well is the news feed and how it's the main part of the home page on Facebook, and what doesn't work well is how small some of the fonts are.

My history of the internet

When I first started using the internet, I was in 3rd grade. I remember my dad downloaded AIM for me and my brother for Christmas. We were pumped because we never really used the internet and I didn't really know how anyways. Also, a big thing back when I used AIM was getting icons for the side of you instant message box, so I would always go on the internet looking for different icons to put there. Other than that, I didn't really use the internet for anything big up until 5th grade. In 5th grade we started taking computer classes and got taught how to search the web and do all kinds of neat things. I immediatly went home and did so many things. For example, I searched games, people, anything. Now, I mostly use it for homework or school purposes and of course, Facebook. I think I will use it in the future to search topics for papers in school and to still use social networking websites.

Intro to Bob Marley blog

My blog is about Bob Marley, (clearly). To me, he is such a good guy and means so well. For example, he wrote songs about peace, love, and happiness. His songs are all so tranquil and easy-going. I enjoy learing about him and reading about him daily. I wish Bob was still alive today so I could see him in concert and still keep learning about new things that are happening in his life. I can't wait to keep blogging about this interesting man throughout the year. :)

Wednesday, Sept. 15th

Since I'm blogging about Bob Marley, I decided to look up websites about him and I found http://web.bobmarley.com/index.jsp . This is a website about his life, lifestyle, and even his family. You can learn much about him and his sons, daughters, and parents. There is even a foundation for Bob Marley. This foundation helps kids in need of support. This foundation is non-profit and 100% of its donations goes straight to the kids in need. Also, there is music videos sung by his son, Ziggy Marley. He has come out with a new song called "B is for Bob" in honor of his amazing dad.

September 14th

Hi, my name's Hayley. My blog is going to be about Bob Marley. I think Bob Marley is one of the most interesting people. I think he's amazing and I also love his music. He interests me because there's many different things to know about his life. Also, his religion (Rastafarian) really grabs my attention because it's very diverse compared to all of the other common religions in the world.
